The Significance of it All is the Insignificance of it All
Eien & Eian
(2017 - 2020) A series of works exhibited in a 2018 solo exhibition, "The Evolution of Eian & Eien."
TOY STORY 2
(2011 - 2017) An extension of the previous series, Toy Story 2 is part of my new series of works that I'm currently producing.
(2010) "The batch that didn't make the cut" The 'mixed-breeds' (a batch of toys that have been locked up in a warehouse due to a manufacturing glitch and are now released for sale to the public, at a store near you) are at a constant battle for their rights to be displayed on shelves during the store's opening hours, just like the rest of the 'original productions'. Follow their fight and journey of self-discovery!
FOR AGES 4 AND UP
(2009 - 2010) Titled after my first solo exhibition in 2009 (I know, it took me a while), For Ages 4 & Up deals with the idea of conformity in today's society and social mores of contemporary Singaporeans represented through the use of costumes, uniforms and props.
POLAROID PAINTINGS (2007) Part of an exhibition in conjunction with Valentines Day, this series of Polaroid Paintings deals with the relation between permanence and spontaneity, comparing it to the idea of what society views today as an 'instant relationship', and it's aftermath.
HAPPILY EVER AFTER 1.0
(2004) Part of an exhibition in conjunction with Valentines Day, this series of Polaroid Paintings deals with the relation between permanence and spontaneity, comparing it to the idea of what society views today as an 'instant relationship', and it's aftermath.
"I'LL NEVER UNDERSTAND YOUR POSITION
(2003 -2004) A series of works that uses the idea of positioning and perspective in relation to how one views and decides another's stature and footing by society's 'standards'.
A series of some of my favorite commissioned pieces and paintings that I sometimes decide to randomly paint, to take a break from my usual series of artworks.
